From the vibrant landscapes of Israel, Reshef's journey began at the tender age of 15 when his fascination with sound experimentation ignited. This initial spark evolved into a relentless pursuit of rhythm, a path of self-discovery through groove.
Diving deep into vinyl records and honing his craft on turntables, Reshef's days were consumed by the captivating allure of the groove. As he delved into the realm of the dancefloor, his DJing prowess blossomed, finely tuned to the energy of the crowd. The minimal Trance movement of artists like XV Kilist, Bitmonks, and Paste further shaped his sonic identity, infusing his music with a signature deep, crunchy tone.
The passage into the world of Psytrance was guided by his brother Rahav and the trailblazing Asher Haviv, leading Reshef into the captivating labyrinth of psychedelic sounds. He then honed his technical skills working in a sound company, mastering the intricate art of compression and EQing on analog gear.
In 2003, Reshef crossed paths with Avi Nini, the founder of Domo Records, propelling him into the Psytrance scene as a DJ for the label. Concurrently, he formed the project Quantize alongside Adi Ashkenazi, crafting releases that graced various labels and culminated in their debut album "Time" on Iboga Records in 2009. Following seven years of collaboration, Reshef embarked on his solo voyage as Captain Hook in 2010.
His captain's hat on, Reshef continued his association with Iboga Records, crafting remixes that reinterpreted classic tunes. Collaborations with revered artists like Ace Ventura, Liquid Soul, Perfect Stranger, Loud, Tetrameth, Freedom Fighters, and ill.Gates led to his breakout debut album "Human Design" in 2011. This transformative album marked a milestone, each track meticulously designed to resonate with a unique sonic palette.
The expansive voyage prompted by "Human Design" led to global expeditions, performing at festivals and drawing inspiration from diverse corners of the world. Fueling his artistic journey, Reshef curated the double remix album "Akashic Library" in 2013, meticulously selecting the most exceptional pieces to share with the world.
